KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Parks issued five compounds under the Parks Enactment 1984 (Amendment 2024) against individuals and a company involved in the harassment of a sea turtle at Pulau Manukan.
In a statement on Saturday, the Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry condemned the actions, calling them irresponsible and contrary to the State’s marine conservation principles.
Tourism operators have been urged to ensure that tourists and staff comply with established guidelines to prevent similar incidents.
The Ministry stressed that awareness and adherence to regulations are crucial for protecting Sabah’s marine ecosystem.
The State Government remains firm in its commitment to environmental conservation and will take action against any violations of wildlife and ecosystem laws.
