The five victims of a predawn house fire in Raub were buried together in a single grave at the Bukit Gelugor Muslim Cemetery.

RAUB: Five family members who perished in a predawn house fire were laid to rest together in a single grave at the Bukit Gelugor Muslim Cemetery late Tuesday night.

The funeral prayers were held at the Tengku Abdullah Mosque in Kampung Pamah Kulat following post-mortem procedures at Raub Hospital.

The deceased are Mohd Alawi Muhammad, 56, his wife Zaleha Adam @ Ibrahim, 44, and their three daughters aged 17, 14, and 10.

Approximately 500 family members, relatives, and villagers attended the somber burial, which took place just before midnight.

The fire, which broke out around 3:00 am, completely destroyed the family’s home along with three cars and three motorcycles.

Two of the couple’s other children survived the tragedy as they were not at home at the time.

A 19-year-old daughter is a matriculation student in Gambang, while their 15-year-old son is a student at SMK Dong.
