
KOTA KIANBALU: KOTA KINABALU: Five people were killed and two remain missing after a landslide buried a house at Kg Cendera Kasih, Kolombong on Monday morning.
The 10.02am collapse trapped 11 residents. Four escaped, while rescue teams recovered five bodies, confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers.
Two victims are still unaccounted for as a multi-agency search continues with K9 dogs, Storm unit specialists and heavy equipment deployed.
The site, just 3km from the Lintas fire station, has drawn personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department, police, Civil Defence and Health Ministry. Authorities are investigating the cause of the landslide.
Also at the scene are Likas Assemblyman Datuk Tan Lee Fatt, Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Sabin and Kota Kinabalu Police Chief ACP Kasim Muda.
