KOTA KINABALU: A flat unit at PPR Sri Keramat along Jalan Ketiau Tombovo in Putatan was gutted by fire early Thursday, with about 90 per cent of the 750-square-foot home destroyed, but no injuries reported.
The Fire and Rescue Department received the call at 7.29am and dispatched 26 personnel from Putatan, Penampang and Kota Kinabalu stations, who brought the blaze under control by 8.13am using a single hose line fed from the fire engine’s water tank.
Police, Sabah Electricity and the district council assisted at the scene, and operations were wrapped up at 9.05am after firefighters confirmed the area was safe.
