A statement issued by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) stated that the evacuees are from Kampung Kemunting, Kampung Assyakirin, Desa Damai, Kampung Baru and Bukit Orang.
"The water in the villages started to rise at about 8 pm and the PPS was opened at 12.54 am (today) to accommodate the victims,” it said.
It said the committee was also monitoring other areas prone to floods in Bintulu, as well as Sibu. -BERNAMA
