FLOOD mitigation initiatives, green infrastructure and coordination to ensure continuous clean water supply are among the key issues up for discussion in today’s Dewan Rakyat sitting, according to the Order Paper published on the Parliament website.

Kubang Kerian MP Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (PN) is scheduled to ask the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation to outline strategic measures integrating green infrastructure and nature-based solutions into flood mitigation projects.

He said the focus should be on ensuring that such initiatives are cost-effective, resilient and provide direct benefits to the public.

Independent MP for Tenom Riduan Rubin will also seek clarification from the same ministry on inter-agency coordination mechanisms designed to maintain uninterrupted clean water supply during floods and other natural disasters.

He will further question the government’s logistical readiness to deliver water efficiently to rural and remote communities.

Meanwhile, Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid (PH) will direct a question to the Digital Minister on the government’s plans to extend programmes under the 2021–2025 National Blockchain Roadmap, which concludes at the end of this year.

She will also ask whether the government intends to introduce a regulatory framework or dedicated legislation to govern asset tokenisation — the process of converting ownership of real or digital assets into blockchain-based tokens.

Paya Besar MP Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah (BN) will question the Education Minister on expenditure for preschool education in comparison with other education levels and the proportion allocated towards teacher development, particularly in line with the updated Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) curriculum.

Following the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will resume debates on the 2026 Supply Bill (Budget) at the policy stage, led by the respective ministries.

The Third Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament will continue for 35 days and is scheduled to conclude on 4 December. - November 3, 2025
