Floods hit Pahang again, relief centre opened in Raub district

A relief centre in Raub, Pahang, is sheltering 68 flood victims after Sungai Ulu Atok overflowed due to continuous heavy rain.

KUANTAN: A temporary relief centre has been opened in Raub district following renewed flooding in Pahang.

The centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Ulu Atok began operating at 6 am to accommodate residents displaced by the rising waters.

As of 10.22 am, it housed 68 victims from 15 families, according to the Raub District Disaster Management Committee Secretariat.

The flooding was caused by the overflow of Sungai Ulu Atok after continuous heavy rain in the area since yesterday.

The committee noted that this is the first time these residents have been affected by floods in the 2025/2026 monsoon season. – Bernama
