Floyd Mayweather’s 2026 return has already carried more questions than normal, with rumours around financial pressure following him into another busy year.
The 49-year-old is due to face Greek combat sports icon Mike Zambidis on June 27 in Athens, in another exhibition bout for his record.
Mayweather’s last official fight was his 2017 stoppage of Conor McGregor, but he is set to return to professional boxing this year, and that distance from elite competition has made every training clip feel like evidence.
Fans react to Floyd Mayweather pad clip before Mike Zambidis fight

Mayweather’s latest pad-work clip shared by Ring Magazine did not calm concerns, as many fans argued the trainer holding the mitts was responsible for most of the drill.
“The pad guy is doing all of the work,” one X user said.
Another added: “This will be the first time I bet against Floyd he definitely gonna lose.”
“He is definitely looking super slow, the man with the pads is doing most of the work. But still great coordination and still looks great for his age,” wrote a third fan.
A fourth stated: “Jesus, the mittman doing all the work lol.”
The reaction matters because it arrived before something more serious.
After Zambidis, Mayweather is scheduled for a professional rematch with Manny Pacquiao in September.
That fight would put Mayweather’s 50-0 record back into play against a fellow veteran who has still been active and had a recent WBC title draw with Mario Barrios.
So the pad clip became more than a few seconds of training. For fans, it was a reminder that Mayweather’s perfect record may soon face time as much as Pacquiao.
