
Kota Kinabalu: A foetus was found at a waste disposal facility in an apartment in Inanam, here, on Monday.
The 9.30am discovery was made by a cleaner of the locked sewage plant.
Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief AC Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the worker had noticed an object resembling a doll inside the waste trap cage.
“Upon lifting the cage, the worker realised that it was a foetus.

“The incident was subsequently reported to the authorities before a police report was lodged,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.
Mohd Zaidi said a preliminary examination at the scene by emergency medical personnel from the Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital (HWKK) confirmed that the foetus was dead.
He urged members of the public with any information to contact investigating officer, Inspector Hatikah Ahmad, at 016-8337243.
The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing a birth.
