NABAWAN: Some 500 residents from eight villages in Pensiangan who were cut off due to a landslide received food baskets – thanks to Rescue Malaysia (JBPM) in collaboration with police, Nabawan District Disaster Management Committee and NGO Love (FOL).

Two Mi-171 helicopters belonging to JBPM and an AW139 police helicopter delivered 11 tonnes of food with the help of 33 workers.

Sabah JBPM Director Abdul Razak Muda said the landslide on Sept. 5 resulted in several roads being inaccessible to vehicles.

It was the second humanitarian mission, the first on Sept. 12.
