A footballer was run over by medical staff who were taking an injured teammate off the field.
On Sunday (31 May), a game between LDU Portoviejo and El Nacional in LigaPro Serie B, Ecuador‘s second tier, was briefly paused whilst a medical crew transported an injured Portoviejo player back to the locker room.
As they drove across the pitch, Portoviejo midfielder Edison Caicedo walked into the cart’s path.
Caicedo appeared to smack his knee on the vehicle before he fell on the ground.
He continued playing in the football match, which saw his team win 1-0.
