- England footballer Ivan Toney has pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an alleged incident at a Soho nightclub.
- The 30-year-old Al-Ahli striker appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court to deny attacking Saber Da Silva on Wardour Street in December last year.
- The criminal charge was announced in late July following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
- A spokesperson for Toney stated that the footballer is naturally shocked by the charge and looks forward to clearing his name in court.
- Toney, who currently plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, has made 10 international appearances for England.
