
Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford has expanded the Ford Ranger range in Malaysia with four new variant and engine combinations, introducing the Ranger Sport 3.0L V6 while updating the Platinum, Sport and XL models with enhanced features, capability and safety technology.

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford has expanded the Ford Ranger line-up in Malaysia with the introduction of the latest Ranger Platinum, Ranger Sport and Ranger XL models.
The newly introduced models cover four variant and engine combinations, with prices in Peninsular Malaysia on-the-road without insurance as follows:
- Ford Ranger XL 2.0L Turbo Diesel 4×4 10AT: RM 127,888
- Ford Ranger Sport 2.0L Turbo Diesel 4×4 10AT: RM 145,888
- Ford Ranger Sport 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel 4×4 10AT: RM 159,888
- Ford Ranger Platinum 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel 4×4 10AT: RM 205,888

The move adds a new Ranger Sport 3.0L V6 option, while also refreshing the Ranger Platinum, Sport and XL offerings for Malaysian buyers.
The Ranger Platinum and Ranger Sport 3.0L are powered by Ford’s 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine, producing 250 PS at 3,250 rpm and 600 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Ranger Sport 3.0L and Ranger Platinum use a full-time 4WD system, while the 2.0L variants use a part-time 4WD system.
The Ranger Sport 2.0L and Ranger XL are powered by a 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel engine producing 170 PS at 3,500 rpm and 405 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,500 rpm. This engine is also paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
All four variant and engine combinations get six drive modes: Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts and Sand.
In terms of capability, the Ranger offers up to 1,000 kg payload capacity, up to 3,500 kg towing capability and up to 800 mm water wading depth. The pick-up measures 5,370 mm long, 1,918 mm wide and 1,884 mm tall, with a 3,270 mm wheelbase and 230 mm ground clearance. Its cargo bed measures 1,564 mm long, 1,584 mm wide and 540 mm tall.
The Ranger XL sits at the entry point of the newly introduced models and is positioned as the workhorse variant. It comes with halogen headlamps and tail lamps, manual headlamp levelling, side steps, power adjustable and foldable side mirrors, daytime running lights, 16-inch steel wheels, black side mirrors and a rear box step.
Inside, the XL gets a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch TFT instrument display, fabric seats with four-way manual adjustment for the front seats, a four-speaker audio system, polyurethane steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and two USB Type-C plus two USB Type-A ports.
The Ranger Sport adds a more lifestyle-focused appearance with LED reflector headlamps, front and rear LED fog lamps, C-Clamp daytime running lights, a black front grille, black front bumper, 18-inch black alloy wheels and rain-sensing wipers.
Inside, the Sport gets a vinyl steering wheel, leather seats with six-way manual adjustment for the driver and four-way adjustment for the front passenger, a rear seat armrest and the same 12-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Sport 3.0L also brings the V6 engine into a lower-priced variant below the Platinum, giving buyers access to the 250 PS and 600 Nm powertrain at RM 159,888.

At the top of the updated additions, the Ranger Platinum comes with LED projector headlamps with auto levelling, full LED tail lamps, integrated side steps, a Platinum front grille with chrome centre bar, Platinum bonnet lettering, chrome exterior trim, body-coloured side mirrors, swing-in-place roof rails, a flexible rack system, cargo management system, metal underbody protection and 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
The Platinum cabin adds a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, leather steering wheel, electronic parking brake, eight-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, quilted leather-accented seats with Platinum badging, 10-way powered front seats, driver seat memory, and heated and ventilated front seats.
Safety equipment varies by variant. The Ranger XL comes with six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS, hill descent control, hill launch assist, rollover mitigation, adaptive load control, trailer sway assist, front and rear parking sensors and a reverse camera.
The Ranger Sport adds features such as lane departure warning with lane change warning and aid, as well as high beam assist.
The Ranger Platinum gets a wider suite of driver assistance systems, including autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centring, lane departure warning and assist, high beam assist, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, tyre pressure monitoring system, 360-degree camera and evasive steer assist. It also gets seven airbags, including a driver knee airbag.
The expanded Ford Ranger line-up is now available for booking at authorised Ford dealerships nationwide. All variants come with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
As part of a limited launch promotion, customers who purchase the Ranger XL or Ranger Sport 2.0L by 31 August 2026 will receive a complimentary Ford Front HD1080p dashcam. Customers who purchase the Ranger Sport 3.0L or Ranger Platinum 3.0L will receive a complimentary two-year Basic Extended Service Plan.
Ford owners and enthusiasts are also invited to the inaugural Ford Nation event on 1 August 2026, from 5 pm to 10 pm at Heritage Valley, Kuala Lumpur.
