The incident took place at around 5am on October 27 on the third floor of Genting Casino, according to Bentong police. The 32-year-old auxiliary police officer was reportedly trying to stop the man from causing further trouble when the suspect became aggressive and struck him in the mouth.

The injured officer was subsequently taken to Bentong Hospital for treatment.

Casino reportedly suffers RM85,000 in damage

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect may have been under the influence of alcohol during the incident. Police also believe he may have behaved aggressively towards members of the public before entering the casino. The suspect allegedly damaged three gambling machine screens, reportedly by hitting them with his head, and broke two chairs. The casino’s losses are estimated at around RM85,000.

The man also sustained a forehead injury during the incident and required six stitches.

Suspect arrested as police continue investigations

Police later arrested the suspect and brought him to the station for further investigation. Initial checks found that he had no previous criminal record, while his urine test returned negative for drugs.

Authorities are investigating the case under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 427 for mischief causing damage. Police are also working to complete their investigations by recording witness statements, reviewing CCTV footage and seeking a remand order to assist with the case.

Bentong police have stressed that action will be taken against anyone who breaks the law, regardless of nationality, and urged the public to avoid speculation that could interfere with the investigation.
