One of the men claimed he knew nothing about the missing phone, but the suspect suddenly grabbed a metal spear.

“The suspect then acted aggressively by pointing the metal spear at the complainant, causing injuries including a tear to the victim’s cheek and left shoulder,” he said.

The victim, despite his injuries, managed to flee and later lodged a police report at around 7:22am the same day.

The suspect was arrested by a team from the District Criminal Investigation Division, which also led to the discovery of a 215-centremetre long silver metal spear.

“The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon, and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for not possessing valid identification documents,” he added.
