Uruguay great Diego Forlan has no doubts about the potential of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Rodriguez.
Forlan says Rodriguez's senior breakthrough in recent weeks has been celebrated in Uruguay.
He told AS: "We are a country that loves football and whenever a Uruguayan shines or scores goals, the fans experience it with a lot of passion. If he is also young like lvaro and in a club with a global dimension that Madrid has with all the more reason.
"What the boy is doing is very difficult to achieve. Few footballers make their debut in Real Madrid's first team and at that age he has more merit, but his career has only just begun.
"In a world as demanding and competitive as elite football, everything is difficult. Debuting with Madrid is not within everyone's reach and staying is a day-to-day job and having luck with injuries. lvaro is showing that he has great conditions. That is what has made him the focus of so many people now, but he cannot settle. The goal should be to continue to improve.
"In all professions you have to continue to evolve and in this one it is the same."
