
A THIRD-FORM student at a secondary school in Gombak has been detained after allegedly issuing a death threat to a fellow classmate, authorities confirmed today.
According to sources, the male teenager reportedly made a video call to the victim, also a third-form pupil, at around 2.30pm on Monday, demanding money.
“During the video call, the suspect displayed three parang blades while asking the victim for cash.
“The suspect allegedly told the victim to choose a parang if he refused to pay. The victim claimed he had been threatened by the suspect since the first form,” the source said.
Following the incident, the victim lodged a police report yesterday.
Gombak District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir, confirmed that authorities had received a report regarding the case.
“Investigations are currently being conducted under Section 506 of the Penal Code, and the suspect, a third-form student, has recently been taken into police custody,” he said. - December 11, 2025
