KUALA LUMPUR - Former Education Minister Maszlee Malik has announced his return to academia and will be lecturing at the University of Cyberjaya.

In announcing his return via Facebook, the former Simpang Renggam MP added that he will be teaching subjects related to social science and education.

"I am teaching again. Thank you University of Cyberjaya for trusting me," he said in his post yesterday.

Prior to his involvement in politics in 2018, Maszlee was a lecturer at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

In the 14th General Election (GE14), Maszlee had won the Simpang Renggam parliamentary seat under the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) ticket and was appointed by Pakatan Harapan as Education Minister.

However, he only served as education minister for 20 months before he resigned. - Awani
