  • Veteran manager Roy Hodgson, aged 78, is set to return to football management.
  • He has been appointed by Championship club Bristol City to oversee their final seven matches of the current season.
  • Hodgson replaces Gerhard Struber, who was sacked following a six-game winless streak that left the Robins 16th in the league table.
  • His previous role was with Crystal Palace, from which he resigned in February 2024.
  • Bristol City's CEO, Charlie Boss, indicated that Hodgson's appointment also aims to establish club standards while a new permanent head coach is sought.
