Robert Griffin III has pushed back hard against the early Caitlin Clark criticism after just two games of the Indiana Fever’s season.

The noise around Clark started quickly because her three-point shot has not fully clicked yet.

But Griffin’s point was simple. Even without her best outside shooting, Clark is still putting up the kind of all-around numbers that should quiet the “all hype” argument.

Caitlin Clark hate gets hit with RGIII reality check

As Robert Griffin III wrote on X, the criticism of Clark after two games ignores how productive she has already been for the Fever.

“The Indiana Fever are 2 games into the WNBA season and the haters are already trying to say Caitlin Clark was all hype. Game 1- 20 pts, 7 assists, 5 Rebs. Game 2- 24 pts, 9 assists, 4 Rebs,” RGIII said.

He added, “She isn’t shooting the 3 ball well and she is still BALLIN. STOP THE HATE.”

That is the part Griffin wanted people to notice. Clark has not needed a hot three-point stretch to control games, create offense, and keep Indiana dangerous.

Through two games, she has totaled 44 points, 16 assists and nine rebounds. Those are not empty numbers for a player supposedly being exposed.

The Fever lost 107-104 to the Dallas Wings in the opener, then bounced back with an 87-78 win over the Los Angeles Sparks.

Caitlin Clark is still producing while the jumper finds its rhythm

The biggest criticism has been Clark’s long-range shooting. She opened the season 3-of-16 from three, which is well below the standard attached to one of basketball’s most dangerous shooters.

But that slump has not erased the rest of her game. Clark had 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds against Dallas, then followed it with 24 points, nine assists and four rebounds against Los Angeles.

Against the Sparks, she also attacked inside more effectively, got to the line, and helped Indiana secure its first win of the season.

That is why Griffin’s defense landed. Clark’s shooting gravity is still there even when the threes are not falling, and her passing keeps the Fever offense moving.

The criticism also ignores how early this is. Two games are not enough to decide whether a star has lost her edge, especially when she is still averaging 22 points and eight assists.

Clark’s jumper will remain the easy talking point until it heats up. But as Griffin made clear, the rest of her production already gives the hate very little room to stand.
