Veteran Radio Televisyen Malaysia broadcaster Mariamah Tijo has died at age 76 after being hospitalised with breathing difficulties.
KUALA LUMPUR: Former Radio Televisyen Malaysia presenter Mariamah Tijo died early this morning. She was 76 years old.
She passed away at approximately 5 am at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. Her family was by her side.
Her son, Muhammad Hafiez Othman, said she was admitted to hospital on Tuesday night after experiencing shortness of breath. He confirmed his mother had several pre-existing medical conditions.
These included a stroke she suffered four years ago. Her recent admission was specifically due to breathing difficulties.
Her funeral prayers will be held at Masjid Darul Ehsan in Subang Jaya. She will then be buried at the USJ22 Muslim Cemetery before the Zohor prayer.
Mariamah was a beneficiary of the Tabung Kasih@HAWANA initiative earlier this year. She received assistance from the fund on March 20.
