Found dead in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang

Kota Kinabalu: A 38-year-old civil servant was found dead in an office at the Sabah Federal Government Complex, here, Tuesday.

The Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement, said it was alerted to the incident at 9.30am.

The victim was found locked in a room on the fifth level of the Complex.

A team of firemen opened the door using special tools.

The victim’s death was then confirmed by a medical officer and the body was handed over to police for further investigation.

In PENAMPANG, an elderly man died after tripping into a drain near Donggongon, Tuesday morning.

Police said the 66-year-old local sustained serious head injuries.

Penampang Police Chief DSP Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the man was pronounced dead by health officials at 7.07am.

“Further investigation revealed that the victim had a history of health complications,” he said, adding the body has been sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem, and the case classified as sudden death.
