JOHOR BAHRU – Two men and two women were detained by the Johor Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JAINJ) during a raid at a massage parlour in Masai here on Tuesday night.
The operation, conducted at about 9.45pm in conjunction with the Malaysia Day holiday, also involved 30 enforcement officers from the Pasir Gudang City Council (MBPG).
JAINJ and MBPG enforcement officers inspected all three floors of the premises before finding two men and two women in separate rooms that were locked from the inside.
On the second floor, enforcement officers knocked on a locked room before an Indonesian woman working as a masseuse opened the door about two minutes later.
Further inspection found a man with her who was wearing only his underwear, while his clothes were hanging on the wall.
The man, in his 20s, was believed to be married and have two children, while the woman, also in her 20s, claimed to be unmarried.
On the third floor, enforcement officers knocked on another room that was locked from the inside but received no response after about 10 minutes.
The room was then opened using a duplicate key, where officers found another man and woman inside.
The man, in his 30s, was single and worked in Pasir Gudang, while the woman, in her 20s, was also an Indonesian national working as a masseuse.
Checks found that both rooms were equipped with beds and toilets and were used to provide private massage services.
Initial information indicated that the massage service cost RM260 for about an hour, with additional charges for other services.
The four individuals were detained for allegedly committing khalwat offences under Section 27 of the Johor Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment.
