
The district police detained four foreigners and seized more than 5grams of Syabu in two separate raids at Silam areas, on Friday.
District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said, the first suspect, an Indonesian man in his 50s was detained at Kampung Sri Aman, Silam.
He said the suspect was detained with 0.30 grams of Syabu in his possession.

Investigation carried out under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he said.
According to Jimmy, three Filipino men aged between 31 and 41 were detained following the raid at Kampung Silam Lamak.
He said their arrest has led to the discovery of 5.11 grams of Syabu and tools for taking drugs.
“All three suspects were also tested positive for taking drugs. The case would be investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he said.
Jimmy said, all the suspects were currently remanded and further investigations are ongoing to identify the network of the syndicate.

Meanwhile, a man believed to be involved in an armed robbery case was apprehended in Sandakan, on Friday.
District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said the 30-year-old local man was detained by Police from the Crime Investigation Division of Lahad Datu and Sandakan Police Headquarters.
He said the suspect was detained at Sandakan Police Headquarters area.
Police believed that the suspect was listed as a wanted individual in connection with an armed robbery case at a shop in Simpang Payang, Batu 7, Jalan Silam on January 18, this year.
The suspect and another man took away cash of RM1,200 and two reload cards. The CCTV recording also captured the suspect pointing a knife on the cashier’s neck before escaped on a motorcycle.
“The suspect admitted his involvement and to have some previous criminal records involving drugs and robbery.
“Remand application will be made today (May 24) for further investigation,” he added.
