Two held over drugs in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: A local man and a Filipino were detained during the Ops Tapis operation carried out by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division of Lahad Datu Police Headquarters at Kampung Puyut, Jalan Pantai, here on Saturday.

District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said, the first suspect was detained at about 11.50am.

He said, police found 0.15 grams of substance believed to be Syabu in his possession. The suspect was also tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine.

“The suspect who had six previous criminal records related to drugs was also tested positive for taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine,” he said.

Jimmy added that, both suspects were currently in their custody for further investigation under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
