Four hurt in Manggatal crash

Kota Kinabalu: Four people were injured in a collision involving a Toyota Hilux and a Perodua Axia at Kampung Tombongon, Jalan Kokol in Menggatal on Sunday afternoon.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said a total of nine people were involved in the accident, which was reported at 1.29pm through the MERS999 system. A team from the Lintas Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene about 18 minutes later with 11 personnel, one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT), and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle.

“All nine victims had managed to exit their vehicles before rescue teams arrived. Firefighters and medical personnel provided first aid at the scene, and four victims were sent to hospital for further treatment,” the department said in a statement.

Two other victims sustained minor injuries, while three were unhurt. The operation concluded at 2.44pm after confirming that the area was safe.
