Kota Kinabalu: Nine people were involved in a road accident between a Toyota Hilux and a Perodua Axia along Jalan Kokol, Kampung Tombongon, Manggatal, on Sunday afternoon.
The Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 1.29pm and arrived at the scene at 1.47pm, about 21 kilometres away from the Lintas fire station.
All nine victims had managed to exit their vehicles before the rescue team arrived, with four later sent to hospital for further treatment.
Two others sustained minor injuries while three escaped unhurt.
The operation ended at 2.44pm after firefighters confirmed the scene was safe from further hazards.
