Four Injured as factory bus crashes on hilly bend in Penang

FOUR workers sustained minor injuries after a factory bus carrying 30 people lost control and crashed at a hilly bend near Suria Vista Apartment on Jalan Paya Terubong this morning.

The Penang Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call at 7.24am and dispatched a response team from the Paya Terubong fire station.

Assistant director of operations John Sagun Francis said, “Initial reports indicated that the bus was travelling downhill when it lost control at a corner and veered off the road.”

He confirmed that four individuals were treated for minor injuries, while the remaining 26 occupants, including the driver, escaped unharmed.

A total of eight fire personnel, led by a supervisor, were deployed to secure the site and inspect the condition of the bus. - August 11, 2025
