Four terraced homes destroyed by fire in KKB

FOUR single-storey terraced houses were destroyed in a fire in Taman Ampang Pecah, Kuala Kubu Bharu, Hulu Selangor, on Wednesday night, authorities confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said the department received a distress call at 9.39 pm.

A team of 33 firefighters, supported by fire engines from Kuala Kubu Bharu, Tanjung Malim, Rawang, Bukit Sentosa, and the Fire and Rescue Academy of Malaysia, were immediately dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, our personnel assessed the blaze and found that three houses were approximately 95 percent engulfed, while a fourth house suffered around 30 percent damage,” the spokesperson said in a statement released today.

The fire was brought under control by 10.25 pm, and operations concluded fully at 1.28 am.

Fortunately, no residents were injured in the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or potential hazards to assist in fire prevention and safety measures. - January 18, 2026
