FARM Fresh looks to get a win run going as it faces Akari in the PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Tuesday.
The Foxies battle the Chargers at 1 p.m.
Spikers’ Turf action between the AFP Cavaliers and the VNS Laticrete Griffins follows at 3:30 p.m.
Capping the day is the PVL match between the Choco Mucho Flying Titans and the Galeries Tower Highrisers.
Farm Fresh pulled off a reverse sweep against Choco Mucho last Thursday, 20-25, 26-28, 25-23, 25-23, 15-13.
The Foxies improved to 2-1 and dragged the Flying Titans to the same record for a share of third place.
Veteran opposite hitter Mylene Paat-Rezanova fired 15 points as helped lead Farm Fresh to the come-from-behind win.
“Actually, I think it was my positive mindset. Before every set, I kept telling us that we needed to work together and trust one another, especially when we reached the fifth set,” said Paat-Rezanova.
“We really prayed to the Lord to give us strength. We weren’t asking Him to let us win the game; winning the fifth set was just a bonus for us. What we asked the Lord for was physical strength and heart.”
Moving forward, Paat-Rezanova said the Koji Tsuzurabara-mentored Foxies just need to have each other’s backs like they did against the Flying Titans.
“I think, for me, it was about having the mindset of supporting one another. Whoever gets put into the game, whoever coach puts in, we need to support each other,” said Paat-Rezanova.
“And when someone’s body starts hurting, another player has to be ready to step up because I was already experiencing cramps earlier. I’m so thankful that Tubs (Trisha Tubu) really stepped up.”
Like Farm Fresh, the Tina Salak-coached Akari likewise looks to get a win run going after finally taking its first against PLDT, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22, last Tuesday.
Carrying a 1-2 slate, the Chargers are in sixth place of the standings.
