This week, Estevao was recognised as Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards. Chelsea is well aware of his growing reputation and is already mapping out plans to support his development.
Back in the summer of 2024, Chelsea struck a major agreement with Palmeiras that brought the 11-time Brazil international to Stamford Bridge. The deal, which started at £29 million, could rise to £56 million with add-ons.
Despite still being a teenager when the move was agreed, Estevao stayed on loan at Palmeiras until after the Club World Cup before joining up with Chelsea. Since then, he’s made quite an impression in blue.
This season, Estevao has contributed to ten goals in 32 appearances. Although he is sidelined at the moment, both fans and club officials seem convinced about his long-term value. There are now talks about extending his stay even further.
Estevao set for new Chelsea deal after World Cup

When Estevao made the switch to Chelsea 18 months ago, he agreed to a nine-year contract. That kind of long-term commitment reflected the club’s confidence in his potential.
That belief has paid off. According to reports from Spanish newspaper AS, Chelsea are now considering a new deal for Estevao following this summer’s World Cup. Salary Sport currently lists his weekly wage at £72,000.
Even though it’s a significant sum for someone his age, it’s still on the lower end compared to the rest of the squad. Players like Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto are all earning more. A new deal could see him closer to their level.
Chelsea doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to rush through a new contract before then. There’s plenty of time on his current deal, so there’s no immediate pressure to get something done quickly.
Estevao set for World Cup call-up under Ancelotti
Estevao has quickly become an important figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans since the manager took over Brazil. When asked if the young forward would be heading to North America, Ancelotti didn’t hesitate to give a clear answer.
Speaking back in December, via TNT, he said: “I think so. Based on how Estevao has played in the last six months, I think so. Estevao will be at the World Cup.”
The teenager is currently recovering from a muscle injury and is expected to miss Chelsea’s trip to Paris next week. Still, even with the setback, his rise continues to draw attention.
