
Kota Kinabalu: A tanker lorry carrying 27,000 litres of diesel and petrol caught fire last Thursday night along the Sulaman flyover near Taman Indah Permai here.
The potentially catastrophic incident was reported at 11.31pm and was brought under control by 12.06am.
Firefighting operations concluded at 3.40am.

A thermal imaging camera was used to ensure the tank’s temperature had dropped sufficiently before the remaining fuel was safely transferred to another tanker by Kotamas Oil personnel.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The operation was closely monitored by senior officers and investigators from the Fire and Rescue Department, along with police and representatives from Kotamas Oil.
