Fuel subsidies backed to curb rising costs

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Government has backed Federal measures to manage rising living costs and global fuel price risks, including maintaining subsidised fuel prices.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said global oil price hikes and supply disruptions could drive up logistics and operating costs, increasing inflation and burdening consumers.

He noted Ron95 remains at RM1.99 per litre and subsidised diesel at RM2.15 in Sabah, stressing diesel subsidies are key to keeping transport costs down and supporting businesses, alongside a Federal task force to monitor supply, enforce price controls and curb abuse.
