Crowds gathered in Tehran on Tuesday for the funeral of several senior Iranian military commanders killed in US–Israeli strikes.

Those honoured included armed forces chief of staff Abdolrahim Mousavi, Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Mohammad Pakpour and senior security adviser Ali Shamkhani.

Large crowds attended the ceremony, with some chanting slogans and saluting the country’s new supreme leader.

Aerial images showed large crowds attending the ceremony, with mourners chanting anti-US and anti-Israel slogans during the funeral procession.
