
Following working sessions on Ukraine and the Middle East, US President Donald Trump said that his administration would "soon" be able to reimpose sanctions on Russia after having repeatedly eased them in response to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
"We'll be able to do that because the oil is now flowing," Trump said in response to a journalist. "We took sanctions off because obviously we're not looking to impede the oil (flows), so we are in a position to do that soon."
Washington's three consecutive waivers on Russian oil outraged Ukraine and its allies, who are moving to increase pressure on Moscow.
