Gadon excited to work with Pacquiao as new NAPC head

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon on Tuesday expressed delight over the appointment of former senator Manny Pacquiao as the new lead convenor of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC).

His appointment is very timely now that the administration is pushing for further reduction of poverty incidence and the NAPC with the right direction could help more to achieve the poverty reduction efforts, Gadon said.

“He is exactly the right person for the position as he has a sincere compassion for the less fortunate,” the Palace official said.

The anti-poverty presidential adviser told The Manila Times that he and Pacquiao would surely meet in the coming days to discuss many things for the benefits and interest, particularly the poor sector of society.

”I am excited to work with him since we would be dealing with a similar concern - that is the plight of the poor Filipino people,” Gadon said.
