PARTI Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) appointed 25 division chiefs, including four new faces, under a restructuring exercise based on parliamentary constituencies to strengthen party leadership at the grassroots.
“We received the letter of approval from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) said Hajiji after chairing the party’s leadership council meeting at the Sabah International Convention Centre, here, Saturday.
He said the appointments followed the party’s constitution being amended at an extraordinary general meeting in May.
“The new faces are Kota Marudu, Putatan, Kalabakan and Semporna,” he said, with the remaining 21 divisions retaining their previous chiefs.
Division chiefs who were not selected would still hold important roles in the party.
“Their task will be to become coordinators in every state seat within the parliamentary constituencies,” he said, adding that some would take up positions such as deputy, vice chief, information chief or treasurer. He said the newly appointed division chiefs would compile and submit their membership lists to the RoS, with the same applying to the Wanita, Pemuda and Beliawanis wings.
“With this new restructuring, we hope Gagasan Rakyat will be easier to administer and we hope this party will continue to strengthen its position as the party leading the state government today,” said Hajiji.
The appointments brought together experienced senior leaders, energetic young leaders and several new faces with varied backgrounds and expertise.
The selections were made after taking into account experience, leadership ability, service record to the community, grassroots acceptance and the capacity to mobilise the organisation effectively.
The new faces are Saripin Magana (Kota Marudu), Shah Alfie Yahya Ahmad Shah (Putatan), Datuk Dr Mohd Jasmin Julpin (Semporna) and Dr Andi Md Shamsureezal Mohd Sainal (Kalabakan).
Senior leaders would continue to serve as a source of experience and strategic guidance, while younger leaders and new faces would bring fresh ideas and energy to strengthen organisational work. The combination is important so the party remains strong in experience while staying ready for renewal and able to move together with current developments.
The appointments will focus on strengthening division structures, expanding membership, mobilising grassroots activities and forming effective leadership teams in every area.
The remaining 21 division chiefs are Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor (Tuaran), Datuk Seri Ruddy Awah (Kudat), Datuk Mohd Arsad Bistari (Kota Belud), Datuk Mohamed Razali Mohamed Razi (Sepanggar), Datuk Faisyal Diego (Kota Kinabalu), Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun (Penampang).
Datuk Seri Gulamhaidar Khan Bahadar (Papar), Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif (Kimanis), Datuk Isnin Aliasnih (Beaufort), Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob (Sipitang), Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (Ranau).
Datuk Azaman Ruslan (Keningau), Datuk Rubin Balang (Tenom), Datuk Abdul Ghani Yassin (Pensiangan), Datuk James Ratib (Beluran), Datuk Hazem Mubarak Musa (Libaran), Datuk George Hiew (Batu Sapi), Datuk Awang Kadin Tang (Sandakan), Datuk Masiung Banah (Kinabatangan), Rajesh Yusof (Lahad Datu) and Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan (Tawau).
