Haryana Cabinet Minister Ranbir Gangwa addresses a district-level ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv’ event in Sirsa on Monday.

Haryana Cabinet Minister Ranbir Singh Gangwa on Monday said several drinking water projects for Sirsa had been approved and were currently under process to tackle water scarcity during the summer season. Speaking to reporters during his visit to Sirsa, the minister said local officials had been directed to keep water tanks filled and ensure adequate arrangements so that residents do not face any shortage of drinking water in the coming months.

Responding to a question on the ongoing strike by sanitation workers, Gangwa said the matter was under the consideration of the Urban Local Bodies Department. He said the BJP government listens to both employees and the public, and believes issues should be resolved through dialogue rather than strikes.

Asked about senior BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi’s remarks concerning MP Rekha Sharma, Gangwa termed it an internal party matter and described Bishnoi as a senior leader. He also praised former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal for his contribution to the development of the state.

On allegations of corruption in the Public Health Department raised by Congress MLA Gokul Setia, the minister said the BJP government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. He said strict action would be taken wherever irregularities are found and added that the government was committed to providing better public services.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal regarding reduced consumption of petrol, diesel and gold purchases, Gangwa said people in the country respect the Prime Minister’s appeals and that India’s cultural values have helped the nation overcome difficult situations in the past.

Earlier, Gangwa attended a district-level function organised on the occasion of Somnath Swabhiman Parv at Shri Shiv Temple in Multani Colony, Sirsa. Women took out a Kalash Yatra from Nehru Park to the temple premises before the programme. Local residents also raised issues related to sewerage, water supply and other civic problems before the minister.
