Gary Lineker will host a Netflix show where members of the public will attempt to beat Luke Littler at darts.
Lineker will front ‘Beat Luke Littler’ alongside former Pointless host Richard Osman, with the show to be streamed live on the platform.
On October 30, hopefuls will take on the world number one for a chance to win £501,000.
Following open regional heats, 20 participants will be whittled down with each taking on Littler in a single leg.
It sees a return to live sport for Lineker following his exit from the BBC last year.
His successful The Rest is Football podcast moved to Netflix for this summer’s World Cup and will become a permanent fixture throughout the Premier League.
Lineker said: “I am delighted to be deepening my relationship with Netflix after such a brilliant experience with The Rest Is Football at the World Cup, and Beat Luke Littler feels like exactly the kind of unpredictable, live event television that gets me excited – I cannot wait to see who fancies their chances.”
Osman, who will provide statistical analysis in a similar role to the one he performed on Pointless, said: “As a huge darts fan, and proud owner of a signed photo of Jocky Wilson, I couldn’t be more excited to join the amazing Beat Luke Littler live show.
“He’s the greatest player in the world. But 20 legs in a row? I honestly think someone is going to win that £501k. It’s going to be an incredible night.”
The regional heats will be open to all and will be held in Manchester and London this September to find the final 20 players who will earn a spot in the live broadcast.
