  • Actor Gary Oldman has divulged that he apologised to Demi Moore for his "unprofessional" behaviour on the set of their 1995 film, The Scarlet Letter.
  • Oldman, who was struggling with alcoholism at the time, admitted to drinking excessively during lunch breaks, impacting his performance.
  • He recalled in an interview to Radio Times that he apologised to Moore the following day. She said: “I don’t hate you. It’s OK. I’m just disappointed.”
  • Now 28 years sober, Oldman acknowledges the destructive nature of his past drinking and credits sobriety with transforming his life and career.
  • He recently starred as the American author John Cheever, who also battled alcoholism, in the A24 film Parthenope.
