Eid al-Adha commemorates the Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to God and is usually marked by family gatherings, livestock sacrifice, and giving to the poor. But in the crowded displacement camps of Gaza, families are barely surviving.

Children in coastal Muwasi recited prayers beside pens of sheep and goats, though most families could not afford a sacrifice.

“This year I can’t even provide bread,” said Abdel Rahman Madi.

With over two million displaced and aid scarce, many like Hala Abu Nqeira say they now search for flour instead of sweets and new clothes.
