Umno Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan ( Tok Mat) is leading the race in Rembau.

Tok Mat is in a five-way fight for Rembau. He is contesting against Perikatan Nasional's Nazri Yunus, Pakatan Harapan's Jufitri Johar, Pejuang's Ramli Awaluddin, and Parti Sosialis Malaysia's S Tinagaran.

In 2018, caretaker health minister Khairy Jamaluddin won Rembau with a 4,364-vote majority.

There are 133,461 voters in Rembau. There are four state seats under the constituency, which are Kota, Chembong, Rantau and Paroi.
