IPOH - The alleged actions of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government in sabotaging the Bumiputera economic development agenda during the 22 months in power was a very painful experience.
The matter was revealed by Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who admitted that the PH government at that time did not respect the main issues that were the backbone of the country.
He claimed that the former finance minister that time, Lim Guan Eng withdrew an allocation of RM2 billion that had been prepared for the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (Teraju) and Ekuiti Nasional Berhad (Ekuinas).
“During meetings, these two main agencies were pressured by the former finance minister none other than Lim Guan Eng.
“There were several times when he showed that he did not want to respect agencies like Teraju and some of the provisions that had been prepared were revoked and even Teraju was stopped and not created.
"Then we re-established Teraju to guarantee the future survival of Bumiputeras in our country.
“Ekuinas was established by the previous government with an allocation of RM2 billion, and Lim Guan Eng made a decision that the allocation is taken back by the Finance Ministry.
"This means he disrespected another Bumiputra agency established by the government and the steps taken did not pay attention to the fate of bumiputras in the economic development in our country through these two examples," he said when speaking at the Program Jelajah PN BEST for PN Tambun Parliament in Bandar Meru Raya, here on Sunday night.

He said that it was only after the former economic affairs minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali met with the former prime minister at the time, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, that the RM2 billion allocation was returned and maintained.
Meanwhile, Muhyiddin also revealed how Lim allegedly made the decision to withdraw the allocation provided for Tunku Abdul Rahman University (UTAR) amounting to RM300 million.
He said, even though UTAR was created by MCA, the provision for children's education should not be withdrawn.
"It is rather unusual for a person who should have supported education for the Chinese community to take drastic action to pull out the allocation and not give the allocation to the university in question.
"Only when the PN that I lead as Prime Minister, we returned the allocation because it was an allocation related to education," he said.
