BATU: Former two-term Batu Member of Parliament (MP) Chua Tian Chang, better known as Tian Chua has conceded defeat, ahead of the official results.
In a statement posted on Facebook, he congratulated Pakatan Harapan (PH) on their victory in P115 Batu parliament.
“I would like to congratulate PH on their win in Batu,” he said.
“Even though I have not won this General Election (GE), I will not stop fighting for the rakyat and remain committed in my efforts towards change and formation.”
He then thanked both his supporters and as well as Batu voters.
“I remain indebted to all my supporters who consisted of volunteers who have worked hard during the length of this GE.
“I would also like to thank Batu voters, regardless of their choices. Thank you for taking your responsibility seriously.”
As of 10.50pm, Tian Chua has secured 788 votes in the 10-cornered fight for the seat.
