Why is the Geely Galaxy Starshine 8 EM not a full electric sedan

Ddi you know that on March 3, 2025, during the “Geely AI Intelligent Technology Launch Event,” the Geely Galaxy Starshine 8 EM was officially unveiled as the brand’s first flagship electric hybrid sedan in the B+ segment.

Imagine that, in a time when so many world leaders are pushing for full electric cars to be on the road and with China being a dominant electric vehicle producer, now comes a hybrid sedan from one of the world largest automotive groups who flies the ‘electric vehicle range’ flag very high.

Meanwhile, with a remarkable length of 5 meters and a spacious wheelbase of 2,928 mm, this model prioritizes comfort and interior space for passengers.

The design embodies Geely Galaxy’s distinctive Ripple Aesthetic Philosophy, featuring the striking Flying Eaves Tiger Eye Headlights at the front, which contribute to its bold and commanding presence. The side profile showcases an elegant design, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that enhances its overall appeal.

At the rear, the Rising Sun Taillights extend gracefully across the vehicle, incorporating layered lighting effects that convey a sense of serene grandeur. Inside the cabin, large surfaces are adorned with suede-like materials, providing a warm, delicate, and luxurious tactile experience that elevates the driving environment.

During this event, the Geely Galaxy Series was officially upgraded to the Geely Galaxy brand. Since its introduction in February 2023, Geely Galaxy has consistently innovated in design by blending traditional elements with modern technology, driving the brand’s progressive development.
