Eintracht Frankfurt striker Jens Petter Hauge admits Erling Haaland talked him out of joining Cercle Brugge.
Hauge has since signed for Gent on-loan.
On turning down Cercle Brugge, the Norway international revealed chatting with Manchester City striker Haaland before eventually pulling out of the move.
He told HLN: "My transfer to Cercle Brugge was almost complete, but I began to have doubts.
"I talk a lot with Erling (Haaland,), and we also talked about that transfer. He advised me to decline the offer because I should wait for a better opportunity.
"Whether I have spoken to Haaland about the Gent switch? Not yet, but I will soon. It feels like the perfect match."
