At 18-years-old the Terengganu born Hakim Danish is the spotlight of Red Bull Motogp rookies cup. The Malaysian national anthem “Negaraku” was played out loud at the Grand Prix of Argon 2025 as Hakim Danish lifted the winning trophy, putting Malaysia on the spotlight of motorsport.
Hakim’s interest in motorsport started at the ripe age of 8 as he watched his father repairing motorbike and having a minibike himself. His racing career started back in 2019, whereby he competed in the Mini Cub Prix KBS racing series. He then gradually hit the international stage at the European Talent Cup which served as his stepping stone into the Red Bull Rookies Cup which he made a debut in 2023.
During the Red Bull Rookies Cup Race 2 in Argon, Danish was able to put out a magnificent last lap with a perfect final corner despite the cold conditions which made him gain the top step in the podium. He stated that it was indeed a difficult race for him as he was unable to mange his tyres combined with the weather. But despite the challenges the eager to win pushed him to max out his performance at the very last lap.
Danish is leading the championship board with 125 points from his consistent results all throught out the season. With 4 more races on the calendar, he has a chance at winning the championship if he continued his performance throughout the calendar.
As the next race in Mugello, Italy is right around the corner, all eyes will be on our Malaysian talent on his tactical performance. Wherether it’s a wet or dry race, Hakim Danish is racing for more than just points and trophy’s but to put the Jalur Gemilang on an international stage.
