Giannis Antetokounmpo was in Budapest for the Champions League final, where PSG beat Arsenal on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The Bucks star had professional duties at the event and was spotted on the Puskas Arena pitch on Sunday, playing football after Arsenal’s defeat.

That clip stirred debate because his Milwaukee future remains uncertain, and one fan compared his carefree summer with Damian Lillard’s trade caution.

An X user argued Lillard once avoided summer workouts while awaiting a trade, fearing injury could damage his move, while Giannis was playing football after a calf issue.

The Greek star missed 15 games earlier this season with a calf strain, so the reaction captured why some fans read meaning into his activity.

The fan also claimed Giannis was not acting like someone waiting for a “pending trade”, despite growing expectation that his Bucks future could change.

Giannis then answered him directly, saying: “Just because people in my position take things for granted, why should I?! I enjoy playing!”

That response did not deny uncertainty around Milwaukee. Instead, he pushed back against the idea that every action must be filtered through trade logic.

Reports continue to frame Giannis’ future as one of the NBA’s major summer questions, with Miami frequently mentioned among teams watching closely. Still, destination talk remains unresolved.

Meanwhile, he does not seem at all bothered by the uncertainty over his future and is simply enjoying his free time.
