A GIANT inflatable football promoting the FIFA World Cup caused an unexpected spectacle in El Salvador after breaking free from its structure during severe weather and rolling through busy streets.
The incident took place in Zona Rosa, a popular district in the capital, where heavy rain and strong winds reportedly dislodged the oversized inflatable from its display.
Videos shared online show the giant football bouncing and rolling through traffic as stunned drivers and pedestrians watched the unusual scene unfold.
Some motorists appeared to slow down and steer clear of the runaway inflatable, while others found themselves sharing the road with what resembled a real-life version of the video game Rocket League.
At one point, a truck appears to make contact with the inflatable as it rolled across the road, although no injuries or major damage were reported.
The unusual incident quickly drew attention on social media, with many users joking that World Cup excitement had quite literally taken to the streets.
“Real-life Rocket League in the streets. That truck had no chill,” one user called GeoTalkX commented.
Meanwhile, Avela wrote: “Those who put it up there should be in trouble. It could have hurt someone.”
