MANILA, Philippines — Gilas Pilipinas concluded its two-game friendly with a convincing 94-66 demolition of the Franklin Bulls on Tuesday at the Franklin Pool and Leisure in Pukekohe, New Zealand.
The win was a strong follow up to the national side’s 92-61 rout of the Manawatu Jets on Sunday.
Naturalized player Justin Brownlee and energetic big man Mike Phillips sat out the game against the Bulls.
The two, however, weren’t needed as Gilas played with a lot of energy on both ends of the floor.
The Philippines used the two friendly matches to prepare itself for the coming showdown with host New Zealand Tall Blacks for window 3 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers in Auckland.
